Suri Cruise Stumbles in Her High Heels

Oh, baby! Those sparkly, high-heel sandals that pint-size Suri Cruise has been sporting recently look so adorable. Especially when combined with ponytails and Elmo.

But walking the walk ain't so easy, as the famous preschooler discovered. Credit: PPNY / GSNY / Splash News

But on a recent Boston outing with her mom, Katie Holmes, Suri, 3, apparently slipped while walking on a wet sidewalk. Mom, wearing flat boots, was there to keep her from falling.

And, so, the debate continues: Is it appropriate for toddlers to wear heels?

Hot Toddler Trend: Dress Your Kid Like Suri for the Holidays

Wanna dress your child like the world's trendiest tot?

Suri Cruise, daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, hit the Jacadi children's boutique in Boston recently, picking up a striped sweater dress, striped sweater and pleated skirt from the brand's "Sur les Flots" collection, along with dresses in pale pink and red velvet from the the French retailer's new holiday collections.

And speaking of holiday, ParentDish asked Peggy Waldo, director of Jacadi USA, what's hot this season.

"The strongest holiday trends for kids put a fresh, modern spin on authentic and timeless classics," she says. "A short-sleeve dress turns up in gray flannel; a red velvet jumper is accented with oversized buttons and, instead of white, blouses turn up in cheerful Liberty prints."

Prices for Jacadi range from $28 for a white cotton onesie to $278 for a classic duffel coat.

Larry King's 10-Year-Old Son Gets His Own TV Show

Larry King's 10-year-old son Chance is going to host a talk show on Fox Sports Net. Titled "Kid Pitch," it will be about "youngsters shooting the breeze about all things baseball" along with player interviews, according to a report on TMZ. Tom Arnold, formerly of Fox's "Best Damn Sports Show Period" will direct.

Chance's 9-year-old brother Cannon King will appear on the show from time to time, reports TMZ.

Chance and Cannon are the offspring of Larry and Shawn King. Larry is 76 years old. Shawn is 50, and is Larry's seventh wife. As far as we know, this is Chance's first television job. We hear that Larry didn't get his first broadcasting gig until 1957, when he was 24. That's two years before his current wife was born, by the way.

TMZ says that "Kid Pitch" is scheduled to begin taping in February of 2010.

Airbrushed Magazine Photos of Babies Spark Debate

Some magazine editors admit to airbrushing photos of babies, but say that the changes are minimal. Critics call the practice

Do you think babies' photos should be airbrushed in magazines? Credit: Getty Images

Critics are outraged that some parenting magazines admit to airbrushing images of babies that run on their covers, but industry insiders say that almost every photograph in a magazine is retouched.

The hubbub started when a BBC documentary, My Supermodel Baby, revealed that the publication Practical Parenting and Pregnancy retouched a photograph of 5-month-old baby model Hadley Corbett. According to The Daily Telegraph, the magazine's casting director, who was not named, told filmmakers that the child's image was airbrushed: "We lightened his eyes and his general skin tone, smoothed out any blotches and the creases on his arms. But we want it to look natural."

Hadley's mom, Esther Corbett, tells the Telegraph that she was neither surprised nor offended that her child's image was altered. "You kind of know that they do it because if you look at the front cover of magazines, most of the images don't look really real," she says. "But it didn't put me off."

Plenty of other people are put off, however, and some say that the practice is "shocking." Jo Swinson, a U.K. political leader, campaigns against airbrushing in magazines. "People will be appalled that a magazine would not think images of beautiful healthy babies are alright as they are and instead have to conform to some standard," she tells the Telegraph. "The idea that babies must look more perfect – that they can't have creases in their skin – shows the obsession with a particular ideal. Where does this end?"

"You will have parents thinking, my baby isn't attractive enough, how do I make my baby more attractive?" she says.

Industry insiders who have worked with children in media say that retouching photographs -- of everything and everyone -- is standard operating procedure at most publications and is in no way sinister. A friend who has a long resume working with children's publications tells me that the goal is to improve the likeness by adjusting the color, lighting and yes, getting rid of drool or flyaway hairs.

With photo-editing software and services readily available today, plenty of parents are doing the same thing with their private snapshots. I'm not above editing out the chocolate smears on my kids' faces to get the perfect holiday card, and I don't think I'm alone.

Sarah Palin: Levi Welcome at Thanksgiving Table; Johnston Declines

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told Oprah that she is willing to bury the hatchet with Levi Johnston, baby-daddy to her first grandchild, and says that he is welcome at her Thanksgiving table.

Palin told Oprah that she's trying to move past the negative and concentrate on life without drama. Johnston, she says, is part of the family and she's willing to "bring him into the fold" and under her wing.

"And he needs that, too, Oprah, I think he needs to know that he is loved and he has the most beautiful child and this can all work out for good," she says in the interview, which is scheduled to run Nov. 16. "It really can."

But it doesn't look like he'll be taking a bite of her sweet potato pie anytime soon, according to Gawker. In an interview he did today with Playgirl, Johnston says of the former vice-presidential candidate's invitation, "You could tell by her laugh she was full of it." So much for that reunion.

The Palin family generates reams of tabloid coverage, and Johnston is among the principal players. From his mother's arrest for drug dealing to the infamous "Vanity Fair" interview wherein he did his best to further tarnish the already endangered reputation of the former vice presidential candidate, Johnston has done a lot to engender Palin's wrath.

Jon Gosselin

Jon Gosselin is a husband and father who became famous appearing on the TLC reality show "Jon and Kate Plus 8." The show follow the lives of Jon, his wife Kate Gosselin, and their eight children -- fraternal twins Cara and Madelyn, born in 2000, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, born in 2004.

Jon Gosselin was born on April 1, 1977, in Wyomissing, Penn. A high school graduate, Jon worked as an IT analyst prior to becoming a reality show celebrity.

Jon Gosselin met his future wife Kate Kreider in 1997, and the couple married on June 12, 1999. After Kate was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, the couple turned to fertility treatments and became pregnant with twins Cara and Madelyn, who were born on October 8, 2000. In 2003, Jon Gosselin and his wife again turned to fertility treatments to become pregnant. On May 10, 2004, Jon and Kate Gosselin became parents to sextuplets.

Jon Gosselin and his family first appeared on television in 2004 on an NBC special called "Home Delivery." Other specials followed and in April 2007, "Jon and Kate Plus 8" began airing as a regular series on TLC. In 2009, after eight seasons of "Jon and Kate Plus 8," rumors began to swirl that Jon Gosselin and his wife were having marital problems. In May 2009, photos of Jon Gosselin partying with female students at a Juniata College party surfaced. More photos showing Jon Gosselin dancing with young women at a local bar were released later.

After Jon was photographed with young women, the couple addressed the situation on their show. Denying that his marriage was on the rocks, Jon Gosselin claimed that he had never cheated on his wife. Despite obvious strains in the relationship, the couple continued to film the reality show. In June 2009, Jon and Kate announced on the show that their marriage was over. Despite a growing backlash, the couple continued to allow cameras into their home.

Jon Gosselin quickly moved on from his relationship with Kate and began dating other women. He was accused of having a relationship with his children's nanny as well as Kate Major, a Star Magazine reporter. After numerous photos were published showing Jon Gosselin with Hailey Glassman, the daughter of Kate Gosselin's plastic surgeon, Jon admitted that he and Glassman were dating.

In September 2009, TLC announced that Jon Gosselin had been dropped from "Jon and Kate Plus 8" and that the show would now focus on Kate as a single mother. Within days, Jon Gosselin demanded that TLC cease and desist filming at the couple's Pennsylvania home, and the show's production was halted indefinitely.

Jon and Kate's split continues to play out in public. In a recent interview with ParentDish, Jon discussed his his relationship with Kate, his children and his girlfriend. He also revealed that he is in the process of writing a book about his life.

Noah Cyrus: Actress

Noah Lindsey Cyrus, born January 8, 2000, is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus and younger sister of Miley Cyrus. At age 3 she appeared in six episodes of the television show "Doc" and made guest appearances in two episodes of Disney's "The Emperor's New School." She was a background dancer in "Hannah Montana: The Movie" (starring her sister, Miley) and has had small roles in Disney's original series "Hannah Montana."

In 2009, Noah Cyrus, then 9, made heads turn when she showed up to Jamie Lee Curtis' Halloween party in what some called a dominatrix-style vampire costume. Though many publications that cater to a young audience refused to publish the photo, Dlisted called for Billy Ray Cyrus to take responsibility for his daughter's apparel.

XFactor Twins: John and Edward Grimes

John and Edward Grimes are contestants on X Factor, a popular talent search show in the United Kingdom. The identical twins, sometimes known as Jedward, are from Dublin, Ireland and despite their lack of any obvious talent, have become fan favorites on X Factor.

With their off-key singing and out-of-sync dancing, 18-year-old John and Edward Grimes surprised judges and viewers on X Factor when they recently received the highest number of phone-in votes after a typically bad performance of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs." When the Miss Frank trio was eliminated from the competition on that same episode, the X Factor twins showed their support the following week by donning T-shirts featuring the girl group's name.

Once referred to as X Factor producer and judge Simon Cowell's "worst nightmare," John and Edward Grimes have won the hearts of such big name celebrities as Robbie Williams and Noel Gallagher. But while fellow judge Cheryl Cole admits the X Factor twins have become her "guilty pleasure," Cowell has reportedly threatened to leave the country should John and Edward Grimes win the final competition.

Miley Cyrus' 9-Year-old Little Sis Gets Halloween All Wrong

Noah Cyrus, 9, dressed for Halloween. Juan Rico, Fame Pictures

When we saw this photo of Noah Cyrus, teen sensation Miley Cyrus' 9-year-old little sis, in an extremely sexualized Halloween getup, we just gasped.

Dlisted, who published the photo, calls for a slap on papa Billy Ray Cyrus' wrists.

Little Cyrus vamped it up for Jamie Lee Curtis' Halloween party -- Curtis was dressed as Mother Nature, according to Dlisted -- but sadly, this grade-schooler turned heads for all the wrong reasons.
